RECORDS PAGE UPDATED 10/7/2010 

The Irish tally of medals increased on Wednesday, with Barry Minnock M35, winning gold in the 5,000m ahead of Rathfarnham AC clubmate, Paul Fleming, who was adding to his silver from the 1500m. Dorothy McLennan, W70 also captured gold in the Pole Vault. Pat O'Shea, M60 also added to his bronze from the 10,000m by finishing runner up in the 5,000m.

Mid way through the European Masters T & F Champs in Hungary with a total of 7 medals won to date. On opening day last Thursday, Pat O'Shea won bronze in the M60s. Geraldine Finnegan, W40 captured silver in the Heptahlon. Pat Naughton, M75 won bronze in the High Jump, with Martin McEvilly being our sole Gold medalist to date, winning the 2,000m steeplechase in the M60s. Monday produced 3 medals in the 1,500ms with Paul Fleming winning silver in the M35s and bronze for Pat Timmons, M60 plus Nick Corish, M85.

On the homefront, Woodies DIY Masters T&F Champs will take place on Sunday 15th August in Tullamore. Please check AAI website www.athleticsireland.ie for further information & entry form.

The Irish masters athletes association (IMAA) is an association set up to cater for athletes over 35 years of age both men a and women. The association has been in existence since 1974 when it was founded as a formally known Irish Veterans Athletic Association. It is affiliated to the AAI and to both the world and European masters associations.
The purpose of the I.M.A.A is to promote amateur athletes among masters both nationally and internationally.
